Want to learn how to design for 3D printing, vinyl and desktop cutting, laser cutting, and CNC machining?

IDEAStudio's Design for Making courses introduce you to the essential skills need to get started creating your own designs for fabrication on the most popular makerspace tools.

This Fall 2020, we will kick off this new series of offerings with four 3-week courses that will be available to HCC students and employees for free! We will teach all courses online this semester and we will use all free software available to anyone with a computer (with the ability to install software) and an Internet connection.

Learn from fellow makers and professional makerspace staff. You can complete the coursework anytime, but your instructor will offer live sessions each week to demo projects and answer your questions.

All work is practical and project-based so you will come away with relevant skills that you will be able to use for personal and professional projects.

This Fall 2020:

  • 3D Design Using Tinkercad
  • Vector Graphic Design Using Inkscape
  • Drawing & Modeling in Fusion 360
  • Designing for 3D Printing in AutoCAD
