The 2020 Export Academy is an opportunity for new or existing companies to develop practical, hands-on training in exporting.

Export Academy Courses:
Developing an International Business Development Plan-March 27
Developing a global mission statement/business model. Participants will examine a variety of factors that affect a business plan such as cultural issues, strategic planning, marketing budgeting, etc.

Foreign Market Entry Strategies-April 3
Identifying appropriate market entry strategies, methods of market entry, and the myriad of resources and approaches available to companies in Houston.

Contracts, Legal Issues & Licensing -April 17
Issues involved in drawing up contracts including export documentation, Customs, Licensing, Export Controls, IP Protections, etc.

Export Financing and Tax Issues-April 24
An overview of trade finance resources, Export Import Bank and payment mechanisms.  (Letters of Credit, Cash in advance, etc.) International pricing strategies including ways to be more competitive in the international marketplace.

Transportation Issues-May 1
A discussion of freight forwarding, INCO terms, documentation, packing, landed costs, internationally accepted terms of trade.

Export Panel, & Graduation- May 20
Panel of seasoned exporters discuss their own experiences and lessons learned. Discussion about trade mission and required criteria to Monterrey, Mexico followed by a graduation ceremony and certificates.
